Log Cabin Quilt: Rose Window

Clara and I created this quilt for a friend of hers who is getting married next week. We hurried to get it done, then we ran out of perle cotton thread and had to wait for more to arrive. Still, we are getting much faster altogether.

"I will open for you the windows of heaven and poor out for you a blessing until it overflows."

Such a precious gift! And the quote its so appropriate! Is it a verse from the Bible?

May I ask where you order your perked cotton thread? Our local stores do not have a good selection

What stitch do you use for the embroidered letters? It's a beautiful and meaningful embellishment.

KC, this is stem stitch done very well by Clara. The perle cotton is made by DMC and is available lots of places--my local Hobby Lobby only carries white, ecru, black, and red. This is black, but the store ran out and we had to order. I generally pick up a big range of colors whenever I'm in a nice quilt shop.

The Bible verse is from Malachi.

That is a lot nicer than my stem stitch! I suppose I'll have to practice...

That's a gorgeous quilt. I love the practice of including verses on the quilts you create!

I absolutely love the verse - both the idea of doing that and the pictures you share. Just beautiful.
