An Unlikely Tea

Because who buys tea at the beauty shop? If Elyse hadn't made me a pot of this at her house, I never would have tried it.

Each sip begins by tasting like a mild herbal blend (and in fact the tea is made from fennel, licorice, basil, and mint). But after it goes over your tongue, it turns into an immense bloom of sweetness.

Comforting Tea by Aveda. A little pricey but so worth it!

This is really good. It is so sweet that I thought there must be some kind of sweetener or stevia in it. The nice salesgirl in the Aveda shop looked it up - the sweetness comes only from the herbs.

My salon, being an Aveda salon, serves that tea too but I've never been in the mood for it (they also serve wine which I am in the mood for). I must try this as it smells divine! Thanks for the review.

It IS delicious, although I can only say that from sampling. I usually spend my money on their hair products, but one of these days I need to get their tea. =)

Anna, you always have the BEST recommendations. It is, after all, because of you that I found my all time, absolute tea, the earl grey cream that you recommended. So I know this one you mention has got to be a real treat also! Thank you for being so generous in sharing all those hints that ...well are so helpful and good!

i love love love the aveda tea as well. my salon offers the tea when you come in for a haircut---it's the perfect getaway, even if it is only a hair appointment! the only tea i've found close to the aveda is by Medicianl Traditionals at the supermarket--i think it's their Throat Coat. It's the fennel i think that does that cool sweet thing...

After reading your tea recommendation I decided to try a blend I found at Krogers that contains licorice--when I think of licorice I think of Good 'N Plenty candies--not my favorite.

And it is delicious. If/when you can't get the Aveda, you might try Stash "Licorice Spice" caffeine free herbal tea.

The igredients are: Licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel, Chinese star anise, vanilla flavor, sarsaparilla, orange flavor, cinnamon flavor, clove flavor and cardomom flavor.

It was $2.59 plus tax for 20 bags. It did taste sweet although it has no sweetner.
